This ministry of Defence (MOD) is located at the Gonobhaban Complex, Sher-E-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka. It is under the control of the Honorable Prime Minister. This ministry deals with the budget, statutory and regulatory matters and to certain extent establishment and administration subjects of the armed services. Moreover other organizations including the inter-services departments are under the regulatory control of this ministry. During the care-taker govt. MOD works under the control of the Honorable President of the republic.

 

This ministry has two wings : The general wing and the works & development wing. Each wing is headed by a Joint Secretary.

 

As per organogram total manpower of this ministry is 144 out of which 33 are class-1 Cadre and non Cadre officers. Most of the officers belong to BCS Administration cadre having sound academic background. Three army personal are also working in MOD as a Joint Secretary (W&D) Engineering Adviser and aresearch officer respectevely. The location of the MOD has an absorbing natural beauty.  The greenery, fragments of blue sky at the wide windows create a marvelous work arena the Ministry of Defense.
